It drives me nuts when I see companies developing a great product to save the world, but failing at promoting it or growing it properly!

A few examples:
βοΈ when I was working in Sales at Researchgate, helping to build a world where scientists can thrive, I witnessed so many companies making the same mistake about trade shows: only going there with a stand to collect business cards in the old fashion way, hoping to get interesting people randomly passing by in front of their stand to discover them, not knowing what was the real ROI of this marketing activity for them,
β Instead: they could use 10% of the marketing budget to warm up leads before and during the trade show with targeted ads and have them book an appointment directly with them at the trade show (and track conversions and ROI that way)

βοΈ So many founders are not jumping on the Linkedin train where they could raise awareness about their company and get new leads and clients by using their personal branding on Linkedin... FOR FREE! What I hear most often: "I don't know what to post about and how to do it best", "What if I do it wrong and it hurts my brand",...

βοΈ Nowadays marketers and founders are obsessed by but sometimes "get lost" with Growth Hacking and as a result, they forget that building a brand is as important as building a great product (think about Steve Jobs and Apple)
β Instead, they could use Growth marketing: take the agile mindset of growth hacking to run experiments quickly on their products and on their marketing activities, but also build a brand on the long run by telling a consistent story and using their mission to connect with people.
